Unistra Ltd Recruitment

For employers

The wrong hire costs more than the fee.

A bad permanent appointment costs you the salary, the recruitment, the management time, and the months before you admit it is not working. We would rather spend an extra week getting it right.

How we charge

15% of salary, and nothing until they start

No fee unless you hire someone we introduced. Our standard fee is 15% of the annual salary, negotiable, and agreed in writing before we take the instruction, as the Conduct Regulations require.

Payable on start, not on offer

You are invoiced when they walk through the door, not when they sign a piece of paper.

A 12-week guarantee

If the hire leaves inside 12 weeks, we replace them free of charge. If we cannot, part of the fee comes back on a sliding scale written into our terms.

One rate, no extras

No advertising surcharges, no admin fees, no charge for a second shortlist if the first one missed.

No retainer, no deposit

Nothing up front and nothing while we search. If we do not fill the role, it has cost you nothing but a phone call.

What you get from us

A short list, not a long one

Most agencies send volume because volume looks like effort. It is not. It moves the sifting work back onto you, and it is the single most common complaint we hear from hiring managers.

We would rather send three people we can defend than twelve we cannot. Each one comes with a plain summary: what they have actually done, what they are looking for, what their notice period is, and where we think the risk sits.

On salary, honestly

If your salary will not fill the role in this market, we will tell you before we take the instruction rather than three weeks into it. That conversation is uncomfortable once and useful permanently.

On the checks that stay yours

We verify what we can and hand you a clean file. But the statutory right-to-work check has to be made by the employer to give you a defence, and where a role needs a criminal record check, you request it as the employer. We will tell you exactly what to ask for and when, rather than implying we have done it for you.

Before you make an offer

Employment history verified

Dates and titles confirmed against references, not the CV.

Two written references

Most recent relevant employment, in writing, before offer stage.

Licences, tickets and qualifications

Driving licence categories, Driver CPC, forklift tickets, registrations and certificates seen and copied.

Motivation and notice

Why they are leaving, what they will accept, and what their counter-offer risk is.

Hiring drivers? We see the licence, the Driver CPC card and the tachograph card before you meet anyone, and tell you how to run the DVLA licence check yourself.

Send us a vacancy

No obligation and no contract at this stage. Tell us the role and we will give you an honest read within one working day.
